Description "Tell me, are you the Hunter? Or the Prey?"

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, not really sure how to explain this one. If you're somewhat familiar with the Elder Scrolls universe, you should know who this is. For those of you that don't, I guess I can explain.

This here is the Daedra Prince Hircine, Lord of the Hunt, the Sport of Daedra, the Great Game, the Chase, known as the Huntsman and the Father of Manbeasts. I don't really want to say anything about his part in any of the ES games so I don't ruin anything for you, so I'll talk about the picture.

For the last couple of days I've been working on a series of Tapestry textures for a personal mod I'm doing for Morrowind. I was surprised at the lack of Daedra based tapestries, so through the use of the "Make Your Own Tapestry" mod, I'm making a tapestry for each of the Daedra Lords. I really liked how the Hircine texture turned out so I decided to make it into a larger picture and well.... Here it is! I MAY do more like this for the other Daedra Princes, but I don't know. I know without a doubt I will be uploading the Textures and Screenshots of the Tapestries once I'm done with them but I don't know when that will be.

TL/DR It's based off a tapestry I'm doing in a game mod for Morrowind.

Made with GIMP 2.4.5

Ominous. Its like he's tempting you/beckoning to come near him... or he's actually stalking you since you're this night's prey.

This is greaaaaaat ♥

Love the work. I'm a volunteer working on a fan based port of the Morrowind game into the newer Skyrim game engine. We are creating fan-based art loading screens for the game and would like your permission to include this piece of art work and any others that are Morrowind related. Its a free game made by Elder Scrolls enthusiasts. For details you can check out our website morroblivion.com

I swear if he creates a weredragon Akatosh explodes and Nirn is disintegrated in the process.

Kinda like the big bang but a bit smaller

if by tapestry you mean peices of cloth that hangs down on walls in the game, then maybe I can answer why they dont have them. If your talking in some modding language I havnt heard yet (im a beginer modder for oblivion) then I cant. The daedra are pretty much outcasts in the empire. In morrowind some still worship azura, boethia, and mephala, though the other daedra are outcasts and worshiping them is illeagal. In the tribunal temple, the 3 good daedra are the anticipations (patrons) of vivec, sotha sil, and almalexia, yet they arnt worshiped as much as who they patron for. The tribunal temple itself is on a decline as it is being conquered by the tibunal temple. I hope this helps.

The tapestry was probably refering to available tapestry mods.

IE; when when he typed in Morrowind Tapestries, he was surprised at the lack of fan made ones.

I'm a hunter, so please don't hunt me. Umm, I mean... yikes!

My oblivion character didn't like what he had to do in the Hircine quest, so he hasn't completed it.
Very cool.

Yeah, I was hoping Bethesda would continue to release Lords based content packs like they did with Sheogorath and the Shivering Isles, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see what they have instore for us in TES V.

Hircine only plays a mayor role in Morrowind expansion Bloodmoon, right? I haven't played it yet... I may when I get my computer back (I downloaded Morrowind and it's expansions last summer and I've barely touched it)

RavengerX In reply to CursedFreak [2009-07-24 02:18:29 +0000 UTC]

You don't really get to see much of him until the latter part of the game, but dependong on which direction you take the Bloodmoon main quest, you might 'hear' a lot from him. I don't want to spoil anything.

Nicely done! I really like the background...I'm not very good with backgrounds and am always impressed with those who are Great job!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RavengerX In reply to approaching-infinity [2009-05-20 01:46:46 +0000 UTC]

Well, I can't really take any credit for the background. It's really just a heavily edited stock photo. I was in a hurry to complete the original tapestry and for the life of me couldn't make a decent background myself, so I checked my stock photo folder and chose the one you can see there. The only things I really did was add some shading, darkened a few trees, added the glare, and sent it through a few filters to get the finished product. Sorry for the confusion.

approaching-infinity In reply to RavengerX [2009-05-23 18:09:44 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for clarifying. I guess I should say great editing on the background then If you don't mind could you tell me what you did to apply the glare? It looks great and I'm trying to learn how to make digital art realistic (downloaded The Gimp and have been messing about with it).

PS I love your sig - my fav Nietzsche quote!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RavengerX In reply to approaching-infinity [2009-05-24 20:04:16 +0000 UTC]

In the Filters menus there should be a tab for "Lights and Shadow", all I really did was mess around with the options in it for a while, nothing real specific. Then, in a couple new layers, I added some my own glare using the paint and blur tools, then sent them through the "oilify" filter to get it to match the look of the rest of the picture. Then it was back to the lights and shadowing menu. You should just go through all the filter menus and continue messing around, it's hard to explain (for me atleast) but you'll get the hang of it eventually.

And thank you, it's one of my favorites as well.
