Description Swimming.

Ursus arctos - Brown bear.
This photo was taken on the 25th of August, 2013.

The brown bears has four cubs, one girl and three boys. The cubs were playing on the hill
and ended up in the water and the mother joined them and it's the mother that's on the photo.
She was swimming a bit away from the cubs and just taking it easy. Her name's Nora.

The male bear, (the father), is called Rocky and he was sleeping while the others were in the water.
This is one of my absolute favorite photos of Nora.

Location: BorΓ₯s Djurpark, (BorΓ₯s Zoo), Sweden.
Camera: Canon EOS 60D.
Lens: Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM.

Indeed it does! I've seen the bears swim once before - but not the cubs Β

The zoo used to have three other bears, but I think another zoo got them o:

I haven't! I knew the polar bears use to swim quite often to get from place to place if the ice starts melting ( and also to search for seals ) but grizzlies? Not really. I know only of their reputation as river hunters. They plant themselves in the river and wait for salmon to pass by. I kind of felt bad for the fishy, but this is the way of the wilds.

They stole your bears?!

I've seen polar bears swim as well, since there's a zoo near my boyfriend's place where they've got two polar bears Β

Yes, they stole my bears! O:
