Description
  A bright light coming from within the storm caught Sonic's attention. Weakly, he lifted his head up to see a tall figure approaching him. They were surrounded in a bright green aura that lit up the snowy ground around them by a couple feet in every direction. Though he couldn't see the details of the figure right away, other than the glow, he did see a pair of icy blue eyes and white diamond pupils piercing through the blinding wind and straight into him. He shivered. If this thing was some kind of wild animal he did not want to be lying on the ground looking like an easy meal. Once was more than enough for him. He let out a hiss as he summoned just barely enough strength to prop himself up. Moving his legs only resulted in stings of pain and numbness from the cold.
  As it got closer, Sonic could make out more and more details. It was a large cat, with snow white fur, pointed ears, and a long, fluffy striped tail. The tufts in its ears and the two floating below its tail glowed with all the colors of the Northern Lights. Its legs and stomach appeared to be carved completely out of ice, and showcased its rib cage. There was a diamond shaped marking on top of its head, and two markings going down the edges of its eyes. Its paws glided along the snow, never making a dent or track in its wake. It didn't even seem bothered by the freezing temperatures, or the icy wind and snow. Its sole focus was on the injured hedgehog before them.
  Sonic gulped, involuntarily shrinking under its icy gaze. Even from where he laid he could feel immense power coming off this creature. And he wanted no part of it. His body couldn't take another brutal beat down like that. However, running away wasn't an option here, not with the state his legs were in. He was trapped, and at this thing's mercy.
  Still, despite his fear, he couldn't help but let a little curiosity creep through his voice.
  "W-Who... Who are you?"

  For those who don't know, a YouTuber named Tennelleflowers and their patrons have been doing this little project where they pick an element and a zodiac animal, and draw that. It's been going on for the last few months or so. They've already done Time Snake, Death Sheep, Plant Dragon, and Space Rat. The most recent one was Ice Cat, and the concept alone inspired me to draw this. I don't really remember how I came to this exactly, but I knew it was floating around in my mind and I HAD to get it on paper. First time drawing an injured Sonic character. I feel sorry for him, but I don't think I did too bad of a job. Hope you like it. And who knows; I might do more with this, or just leave it as is. We'll see. So far, it's my favorite piece of art.
    And now for some last minute lore!

  This thing, the cat above, is known as an ice guardian. It lives in the snowy mountains and protects all those who live there, whether it be permanent residents or those just passing by. It's a solitary creature, usually keeping to itself and rarely showing itself. In fact, very few people have actually seen it in its true form. There are tales of an icy spirit who helps lost or wandering travellers find shelter and safety. It is also said that those who wish to cause harm in the mountains are killed by the spirit, their bodies never seen again. It is also a good judge of character, able to tell the difference between someone who's good, and someone who's evil. No one knows its true gender, or if it even has one. It has no name, so people call it a variety of names: spirit, guardian, snow angel, ice devil, etc. It's also said that this thing has the power to control and manipulate snow and ice.

As for when this takes place, Sonic gets severely injured and ends up lost in the middle of a rather bad snowstorm. With no way to get back to his friends, he keeps wandering around for shelter until the cold and injuries from an earlier fight take their toll on him. He collapses and nearly passes out until a bright light starts walking towards him. Now he just needs to figure out if this thing is a friend, or foe...
