I had a walk out into a nearby horse paddock that is littered with buttercups at the moment. It is a yellow ~sea~ of flowers.
Normally the cats avoid the paddock. They don't like the horses and I think they keep away from it even at night because there's a fox hunting for birds and baby hares there.
But this day there were no horses so I ventured out and got some furry companions after me a while later.
Felix was a lovely surprise, actually. He's not like the others so he seldom follows me anywhere. It's more the other way around if I want photos of him.
Funny thing: The buttercups are quite high - if you're a cat. So both Tintin and Oliver sort of drowned in them. As you can see here.
(Gizmo thought it wasn't worth the hassle of walking through them so he just watched from the sideline.)
But Felix, as you can see in this photo, is "tall" enough to see over the buttercups. I thought that was kind of neat. Felix is a longcat after all. He's got long legs. Β

I live in a particularly tick infested area with lots of TBE and borrelia going around so I have more or less a black belt in handling and avoiding ticks. Those little parasitic anthropods should buuuuuurn!Β Β

I thought the tail was so lovely in this photo too! I probably got a photo of him that was "better" than this one, but the tail totally made this photo worth showing - along with that regal look.
The flowers brought out the yellow in his eyes in a very nice way.

He's the maffia boss! Big, bad and semi-feral - but a total kitten at home in the evenings.
I really did love all those buttercups. I most venture out among them again - unless they've all been ruined by now. It rained like crazy yesterday and I did not have time to go today.
