That new guy sucked plain and simple I haven't seen any movies yet with him in it but I hear he is a good acter and all but not a Freddy Krueger and the chick that plays navy doesn't do a very good job in my opinion that whole movie just sucked on a major scale but ya know it's just me a loyal fan talking XD

As a loyal fan of the Kruegs, I'm just not gonna watch the movie.
The trailers made me cringe. And I'm the one who laughed through all the Chuckie movies.

Ya I don't recommend watching it anyway I had to be convinced to watch it I really didn't want to but you know I jut had to see how good or bad they made it Ben if it had been better I still prefer the originals.i only watched it so I can say that I watched it and said it sucked and have proof XD

i agree with you. The new guy is actually a good actor, but he's just not Robert Englund. And the girl playing Nancy just seemed so laid back about the whole thing, i'm sure she could've done a better job. Moral of the story? You just can't beat an original.

Dang straight.There is no one that can be Freddy Kruger than robert Englund simple as that.I think they should never have even Made a remake.There are some movies out there that could do with a remake others it shouldn't even be a Thought.Nightmare on Elm Street was Not one of those that needed to be remade the grafics are kinda cheesy in some of them but they are good movies and should not have been messed with.Me I really didn't like New Nightmare it was cool Haveing everyone back and everything but it was pretty pointless I think they should have left everything where it laid.Freddy was DEAD people get over it

same with me. i mean i loved that they thought they could make it better, and it was cool that they were trying, but it didn't really work out. The original was amazing, it had an original plot and villain, but in the remake they just took it and thought 'how can we make this better?' when in actuality it was perfect the way it was and they didn't have to change it. I don't blame the new Freddy at all, he just didn't want to copy Robert Englund's Freddy so he tried making his own. Also, its not like they didn't want to cast Robert Englund because he was too old, Robert Englund didn't want to play Freddy anymore. He said he thought Nightmare on Elm Street had a good run and that they should just leave it as Freddy is dead. Although they made another Nightmare on Elm Street and failed i can't help but think it would've been more successful had Robert been in it because i loved him in Freddy vs Jason and i'm sure people would've loved to see him again after that had came out. I also REALLY liked Freddy vs Jason because Freddy completely beat the crap out of Jason. I'll admit Jason got a few shots, but come on, we all know that Freddy won that fight

Ya I loved Really liked Freddy vs. Jason it was cool seeing to classic horror villains beat each other up.And the simple fact that Robert has played him in every.single.thing.with.freddy.krueger.Is just amazing.Cause it is really hard to keep an acter for just a sequel let alone a whole series.So I really respect Robert I really do.So not to see him in the remake was Just awesome in my opioin cause it wouldn't be a remake in a way.Both Robert Englund and Wes Craven hated the idea of a remake.Wes Craven himself wanted it to be a won movie thing with a happy ending it was Shaye who wanted it to be a series.And we'd dropped out.So Shaye made 2.And it failed it was laybeled gay and didn't do well with fans.So to help with the 3rd they brought back Wes and 3 become awesome.Then came the rest of the pointless series.i think the best of the series was 1 and 3 I mean I liked the others don't get me wrong but 3-1 are the top and most honorable of the series.But for robert to go through and BE this character is just so awesome.From the music videos to the mini-series ROBERT ENGLUND IS FREDDY KRUGER PLAIN AS THAT AND YOU CAN SHOVE THIS NEW GUY UP YOUR GREEDY RICH BUTT

i think we might be related. I think exactly the same way. The first, third, and Freddy vs Jason are my favorites. The second one i hated, it's like they just pulled that out of thin air, didn't understand why they would let something like that come out in theaters. I'm sure at the time it was still scary, but compared with the original or the third one it just doesn't compare.

That is the one I am more disappointed in that and new nightmare it was pointless and really didnt need to be made.it was fine with six under their belt should have left it at that.The 2nd is crap all around like you said they just made it cause they could and didn't respect Wes enough to leave it alone but instead gave the fans a really crappy new one.The deaths in that one were really stupid and him needing out through him was soooo painless and him at the party was stupid.The spider is only so sinister in the jar if you let it out it loses it scariness and so that was pointless.That whole movie sucked and in the mist of their mistakes they Disided to bring Wes back and BaM epicness the only ones that were good we're the ones Wes was apart of.No I like Dreammaster it was cool I think but dream child lost it was ok but ya no.And six was good I liked that one it was cool my fav part of that one was the video game kill I loved that part.But all in all there should have been a remake period new nightmare also could have gone without being made and that 1 and 3 are the best cause Wes .But really I don't care Freddy Kruger is the greatest horror character of the 80s.You cant touch him.The only other character that is one the same page as him is Hannibal the Canninbal.I can't compare these two XDi say Freddy rules the 80s Hannibal the 90s cause they are awesome

I actually just got into the horror genre, and within seeing the first Nightmare on Elm Street i fell in love with it so much i went out and bought the box set (I know, pretty sad). Actually the first night i watched the first one i didn't go to sleep till 5AM. Well, loved those movies so much i decided to watch Chucky (got those DVD's for the holidays), and i also watched Scream (also got all of them for the holidays). i haven't seen Hannibal the Cannibal yet, but if you're a big fan of Freddy Kruger and you say it's a good movie then i probably have to go out and see it now. I agree with loving the 6th movie, especially the part with the video game. I loved that part! My favorite death was when Freddy messed around with the deaf kid. I cannot even tell you how hard i laughed when i watched that scene. The only comment i have about that movie was that he wasn't as scary as he was in all the other movies. I guess that would be obvious seeing as after the 1st movie he started to be regarded as a slasher with a sick sense of humor (which is why i adore him) but this one wasn't so big on the scaring me and making me stay up all night feeling.

I too got into the horror genre too not to long ago and I havent had seen much.I only had the chance of seeing the Freddy's cause my dad has them all *fist pump.I haven't seen the Chucky movies but I have heard they suck and we make fun at them all the time I mean the toy is only how tall and its arm is how long?It seems quite stupid I really don't care if it is a killer doll it's STILL a doll.All you have to do is throw it down a well

The Chucky movies are HILARIOUS! i laugh at every single one of them. the whole thing is a joke, honestly, but it was interesting to see the behind the scenes and how they control the dolls and everything. I think the reason i love Freddy is because he's not like every other slasher, he doesn't just kill someone and moves on like it was nothing. i like to think he puts creativity into each death. I think the funniest one was where he interrupts the girl taking the test and asks "wanna suck face?" I laughed so loud my mom had to come upstairs and tell me to shut up.

Well, robert is a bit old. i think he's 63 now. But what really bothered me was just how average and uncreative it was. I also did not like how the new freddy could'nt smile evily and took roberts old jokes.
I wish hollywood would learn you can almost never beat the originals.

I heard the reason why Robert wasn't Freddy was because he didn't want to. He was offered to do it but decided he was done with Freddy

True that! Freddy is a little sexual in genral, but in the remake they amped it up way to far. I think they made freddy just too much of a pedophile and made him more hateable then scary.
I am actually a fan of JEH's acting, but the remake freddy could barely move a muscle in his face with that bad make up! I missed Freddy's evil grin so much!
Ah well, robert and the original ANOES will always be the better movie.
