incredible! The difference is huge! The first image was very raw, but showed hints to what you really wanted from your art. The later image displays massive improvements and a clear show of your artistic desires! Everything from Satorith, to her perch, to the water, and the sky. Even the moon was improved! It's rare we get the chance to see so far back in our artistic journey!
If I were to pick one thing that improved your art the most, it would have to be your ability to blend your shading, followed incredibly closely by your draconic anatomy. Your lines were surprisingly smooth, even back then, but your understanding of how to use them has improved dramatically!
This is such a clear example of talent shaped to skill, I'm faving it just to inspire my own artistic practices!
As far as improvements go, you've gotten so much of your artistic framework done, and have done a lot of very amazing things with blending and line art! you also have started really working with expression, you can't see it so well here, but on her full image you have taken very important time to try to give her 'life' in her eyes, and have worked hard to have her body express that feeling. I think expression, both facial expression and body language would be the best place to focus next! The only 'actual' flaws I can find in the image are small, but I feel may be important; The tail is lacking some consistency, and the fore-claws anatomically could use a bit of attention. But her legs are excellent, her proportions are impeccable, and her hind-claws are perfect and impressively reptilian!
Again, very well done, I hope to see more of these dragons (Which I will be scoping your DA for in the near future) because Satorith is an incredible member of her species, not just speaking artistically, but the story I found on the later image (Though just a piece) was compelling, and I hope to see more! And I hope for a happy ending for her and her mate!

Wow, thank you so much for such a detailed review!
When I saw this old picture I just had to draw it again, since it's a very personal piece. I never could bring myself to throw it away like so many old drawings. Every few years I would find it somewhere, and I always kept it
I always thought that expression of feelings is one of the most important things in art, and I always try to bring it to paper as good as I can. I'm glad it came out so well here as well.
I know the tail looks rather funny and wobbly, but I wanted that to be close to the original, since it's one of the things I noticed first as I saw it. Thank you for pointing out the fore-claws, I haven't paid them as much attention as I should have here
Sadly, there won't be a happy end, at least not wit Sato and his mate together. He died ([link] ), but Sato doesn't know it yet here.

You are very welcome! And though death has prevented them from a happy ending in life, perhaps you could give them a happy ending together in death, for eternity. Every good dragon deserves at least that!

Of course they will be together in death again one day. I can't do that to my dragons, I'm not that cruel :')

Awesome! I'll look forward too seeing you draw them together for their happy ending! Until then, I will start combing your gallery for more awesome!
