My favorite Kamen Rider, all beaten up with some personal modifications to his armor.I like the way this turned out. It has an 'old-rotting paper' feel to it.
I wanted to put his eye out, but the pencil wasn't sharpened enough to draw the detail I wanted.

Yes it is. Black doesn't have a sword unfortunately, though he deserves it more.

Black is truly the BEST of all the Kamen Riders! I especially love how organic he looks, you're also right about him looking inorganic (espically in RX).

this is another awesome piece, there is so much energy in this piece i really love the sugestive background, and all the detail on black himself ^__^ it would be awesome if they did a new kamen rider black movie using this design...like first only...not so melodramatic X'D

Thanks! Rider Black RX, which came after the orginal Rider Black, has the sword in the TV series. Hated all other aspects of the RX suit design though, so I just gave the sword to the original Black.

I like it that something I am trying to draw from memory is quite inaccurate compared to the source material (this case, a toy), but things don't turn out so bad in the end.

I was thinking more of a battle with Gorgom's Creation King (in the first TV series, the final boss that looks like a bunch of heads and organs stuck together in a ball).
I can't imagine Black Sun winning against Shadow Moon for some reason.

I feel his old suit (TV series) was not organic enough, and I love the latest toy that came out where Rider Black was redesigned to be more insect-like.
So there are a lot of liberties with Black's design on this work.

Yeah, his suit wasn't very organic, but then again, it was pretty damn rad given when it was created (I still remember the joint parts expelling that steam thing, I loved that!).
I haven't seen the new toy, is it among the lines of the movie Riders 1&2?
