I hope so too! Because that is what a meant!
When people react with phrases to a scene/story in the picture, you know the picture is successful in something!

Also, this picture screams out for a story to be told! What is that thing? What do the plugs do? Who are the guys in yellow HAZMAT suits and what were they doing before this thing started misbehaving? Why is badass guy marching TOWARDS the giant monster thing with the two large electrical plugs with so much voltage that sparks are arcing across the air from prong to prong?
So many questions to answer, it just seems like you could build a book around this scene (as the opening scene) in a book/movie. If I were a writer, I would try...
Something like:
It was the third time this month that the power stations hadn't been able to keep up and one of the mutants had broken out of its high-voltage electrically-induced hypnosis. Workers were running everywhere, and rightfully so - last time the mutant had taken out 27 of the technicians before the company decided to neutralize the mutant. Quite frankly, the company really didn't care so much about the worker deaths as it did the expensive mandatory payments to the families since the worker's rights laws of 2344 had been enacted. Somewhere in the safety of the command module there was an accountant who finally said, "Enough, it will be cheaper to buy a new mutant than to pay the families if this thing keeps on going like this."
But after a couple incidents like this, upper management came up with a different plan. Paying out to 27 families and having to buy and train a new mutant was very expensive. So instead they recruited me. My job is to go in when a mutant is out of control and get him back under control. The math is simple. If I die, they terminate the mutant and they pay out to one family. If I live, then they save a LOT of money - and I get a cut of that money.
That's why I was walking jadedly into the madness that everyone else was trying to escape. Well, almost everyone else. It looked like a cylinder cutter had gotten within reach of the out-of-control mutant and paid for it with his life. At least his family would be well provided-for.
As I marched toward the mutant, his eyes quickly darted around the room. These things weren't very smart, but they weren't stupid either. It knew that I was coming for him and it knew what the arcing electricity meant for him; back to playing puppet and doing hard labor for months on end. It wasn't something that even the dullest-witted mutant looked forward to and this mutant was starting to look more and more aware every second.
That was when I saw something in his eyes... something that shouldn't have been there. Something that meant everything that was happening here was a lie. But most of all, something that meant my odds of getting out of this alive had just shrunk immensely. If I did get out alive, I was going to have to completely rethink what was going on here in asteroid belt 337, galaxy 093742A, Human Federation and find out why...
But first, I needed to get out of this room alive. I thought about my original plan for a moment. Two cables with 440kV and 400 amps each should do the trick. But something wasn't right here and I didn't trust anything. The cables were clearly charged, but how much? And what was going on with the mute? I considered my options and abandoned my original plan, which was pretty basic anyway. Jamming one cable into each foot usually grounded out a mutant in a matter of milliseconds. But I didn't think it was going to go that simply today so I started looking very carefully at the sciatic jacks. Every hard labor mute had them, and this one had three. If I could get his attention distracted for just long enough, I could get underneath him and go straight for the inputs. The effect would be exponentially more effective than if I just stabbed the thing in the feet with high voltage electricity.
That's when the room exploded...

Dude!!! This is awesome. Thanks a lot for the story, you can write really well. This was kinda a story I have in my mind while working on the picture.
Here is what I wrote on question, "what story is behind" in comment below. Then I read your comment. You just totally nailed it, almost same thing wheee, thanks man, you made my day
{{{{Thanks, I was thinking about something while I was working on it, that's for sure The idea behind it is, the giant creature is being recharging in sleep mode, like laptop All this happens in military labs, so the giants are kind of weapons. I had in mind something like Evangelion or so. And as usually when you do something with weapons, they can be unstable and strike back. So energy collapsed and Giant woke up partially. And the scientist with engineers were just doing their job in wrong time. The guy coming in front is there like backup for any kind of dangerous situations. He is also not just the regular guy, more like genetic enhanced soldier in strong suit, part of previous experiments on humans. He is not match for such a giant in normal mode, but he can do his part of job on half sleeping monster .,.. }}}

Awesome, I have never really done anything like that before but your picture made me want to know the story, so I made it up! LOL. I did not see the post you quoted here, but I did see one where you told someone that it was more of a mutant than an alien and went from there. I think it says a lot about your picture that you are getting so many different kinds of responses to it! Keep up the good work!

Who says you're not a writer. That was pretty damn good. And yes, this wonderful piece of art sparks so many ideas of what's happening here.

Thank you, I'll have to think more about it. I've always wanted to write but never sat down and put together more than a few pages. Where can I see some of your writing? (Here?)

By the way, what did the protagonist see in the mutant's eyes? It was a sentient being, right? Those corporations were lying to everyone saying that the mutants were mere animals. They were making sentient creatures do hard labor and be their slaves, and that is against the law! Or maybe they even turned humans into mutants somehow. Evil corporations!

Pretty much, I was thinking along those lines except not only were they sentient but scary smart - perhaps smarter than us. Later he would discover that at first they really were meat, but a few screwups in the lab and some lab scientists dna in the mix and before you knew it, the mutants were very smart. The corporations still needed the heavy lifters - but maybe even the corporations aren't really in on it - they are just buying what they always thought they were buying and getting more than bargained for in the process.
In the end the protagonist might even using some of his own DNA to make a mutant that has his awareness and knowledge to form a team so that he can work from inside as himself...
I really was flying off the cuff based on what I saw in that one picture. I like how you think though, you fleshed out something for me there that I wouldn't have delivered as clearly. Thanks!

If this helps, I skipped right past the observation and went straight to primal core brain function. Fight or flight. I immediately decided that I would lay on the floor, not move and PRAY that thing thought I was dead and didn't step on me. In other words, your drawing went straight past my reasoning brain and straight into my emotional core- which I think says that you nailed it. Looking back at it now, I can see details that I don't like and details that I do like and overall it is a very good piece of work. But the proof is that I immediately started thinking emotionally when I saw it, I wanted to survive whatever was going on in that picture!
I hope this makes sense and comes out as the compliment I am hoping for...

I think these are the coolest comments.
