Originally born as an experiment between demons, mostly imps, using various genes of many creatures to try and generate a better kind of imps to prepare armies quicker than usual, these little pesky green folks now live on their own, far from hellish lands while trying to befriend most nations just enough to have a place where to stay. Back then, it wasn't really that easy, so most of them made their own villages and formed their own communities.

If there is a thing they have retained from the imps is their horns and parts of their tails, along with their curiosity, willpower and firey, explosive moods and tempers: continuous experimentation was in their blood, same went for building too. Give them anything, they'll make it work, just don't be amazed bby how they managed to make palaces mixed with wood and metal.

As for their abilities, they might not be great at direct attacks, but we can assure you they can be great demolition men (or demoblins?) and assassins! If up to the role, the most charismatic goblins can be convincing and menacing commanders too.

But as time went on, goblins were slowly becoming "a race of their own": slowly losing impish traits, more tailless and hornless goblins started to populate the goblin community, and considering their behaviour, it didn't last long until communities of "pure" goblins appeared, disciminating those who still had even the smallest imp trait in their bodies.
