Socks before pants is the civilized way to do it... far less chance of your socks rolling down, especially if they are calf or higher!

I have quite literally slept in before duty and then woken up realizing I only have minutes to spare and completely forgotten how to dress.
I've also been the guy who has to go wake up the fellows that slept in for duty as well hehe.
