I can't believe I actually missed this!
So I'm guessing this is the winged, staff wielding character we've been able to see in
some of your other works, it's amazing.
I really do love how you've sculpted the concepts as you've gone along, and this final design really
is breathtaking.
If you don't mind somebody asking this late, how did you come up with her general look. For example, what animals
are actually included in the overall design? The owl is pretty clear and honestly the head still really looks like a moth to me.
But is there any other inspirations?
I'm just really curious, because design of characters has always been something that's absolutely fascinated me, when it comes to the artists' process around it at least.
At any rate, I really do love the way it looks and I think it's an amazing work!
Oh and I almost forgot, the way I even found this was by seeing it's your birthday in my
notifications and coming over to check if I missed anything.
So I guess I'd also like to just wish you a happy birthday!

sorry for my late reply I have so much to do these day, because of my relocation !
Otherwise to reply to your question, generally I am working on my personal work by topics.
On the last ones, the Topic was Owl's Clan, so I have took some references about every kind of birds.
For the character design, I wanted something scary, who looks like a bird, and a witch.
So I have try to guess what is more scary : a face with expression or a neutral face like a mask ! A female or a male , what kind of color the character will wear, what kind of clothes.
All these question are in my mind when I am sketching the character.
Next time I will try to add all the stages before the final picture.
For this character, she (mother Nature) is living deeper in the forest with big "owl-bear" and other owls to protect her. And the general ambiance is blue , (you can see it on the concept mother of owl) so I have choosen blue for her clothes. To make her less visible when so move through the wood.
About the magic fire, I think it s the best power when you're living in a forest, you can burn everything !
I have put gold on her to show that she's not a random character but someone important, almost like a god.
For the general design I mean the shape, I was thinking that maybe, if you see her from far away, taking a bath with only the light of the moon to light her; you could think it's a sexy lady... But after saw her face you will understand that she's not so sexy as you were thinking, and say( WTF is this thing, OMG I need to leave because if she saw me... I will be in troubles)
So well, I am not sure I am clear but it's the general story that I am thinking about when I am drawing a character, it's the same with a background !
but next Time I will make a video or something like this to show my process, not worry ^^

Her design, like I said, is still absolutely beautiful to me, although I can definitely see
how somebody would see her as intimidating, if not scary.

Le concept est sacrément original, et j'aime beaucoup la palette colorée que tu utilises ! Et puis, chouettes détails (sans mauvais jeu de mots... tout compte fait, si, le jeu de mot pourri est parfaitement assumé ^^) : la texture du manteau, ces marques claires sur son corps... je suis juste un peu moins convaincue par les flammes aux extrémités de son bâton, dont le style ne me semble pas complètement coller avec celui du dessin, mais c'est quand même une très belle peinture

je vais essayer de faire une autre assez pousser avant la nouvelle année, toujours sur le Clan des chouettes ! Apreès je passerais a un autre clan et d'autres décors, tu me dias ce que tu en penses, je vois que tu as l'oeil !!
