Description This is another one of the playable character races I illustrated for the Heroes' Tears RPG. It's one of three races that were created by an event in the game called the Archanist Wars. Basically sorcerers created an army of lizard men to fight for them. When the war was over, these guys needed to integrate into society.
This is definitely going to be my race when I play the game for the first time, which will be very soon because Heroes' Tears is in open Beta right now. check it out [link]

You got a lot of expression in his face and body language, which can be tough to do with Reptile character, nice job

Both the clothing and the expression were requested by the game's creator, Martin Lambert. It's my understanding that because of their history, the Sauroid races (lizardmen) and the gnomes of the game are somewhat oppressed due to societal class. The other two Sauroids are somewhat menacing, being both very large and also clearly dangerous(cobra and crocodile), and they know it. They deal with a dirty look or two, but the Halnaak on the other hand is tiny and fairly weak. So it gets pushed around and possibly bullied regularly, thus the frightened look. That's not to say that they are defenseless however. The Halnaak is capable of extremely powerful magic. As they develop their skills in magic, I imagine their attitude could change dramatically.

The clothes are also probably a reflection of their status in society. The hat is possibly an indicator to others that this Halnaak knows magic.

Ah i see. So theyre basically like the kid being picked on at school uh? Thats a shame. They look like really nice creatures. Its a shame they look so sad. But its good to see the underdog become really powerful. If only sorcerer hats didnt look so silly.

How do the crocodile guys look like?

Lol, they look very sad and poor. The hat is really awkward too. If only those snake guys wore clothes. They would look pretty cool
