Oh hey! I see that you finished it! I really liked the way you colored it there. It really shows the different textures from cloth to metal, and a nice coloring for the...I suppose "Flames" on the sword, it's amazing! And that effect surrounding Corrin gives it such a hyped up spirit on it, a lot of power showing around. I've never played Fire Emblem before, especially not this one, so dunno what it represents in game, but I feel that if I knew exactly, I would feel something even more in my chest about it, because it really seems to evoque power.
My only complain if any is that maybe you could have risen the head a bit more to show a bit of his neck. I know his position wouldn't show so much neck, but I feel it would be a bit up from where it is, but just a bit, and also maybe make the wings a tad more transparent....as if it was a coloidal texture where the light can hardly pass through it but you still can. Again, I don't know how the art despict Corrin, and I know he's like part dragon and all, but the way I've seen bat/dragon wings, is like semi transparent because it's like cartilage, but dunno if the games despict Corrin with more solid esque wings (Whereas stylistic choices or graphic limitations), but those are the only advices/complains I would ever think, because the rest truly seems amazingly well made, especially that nice looking font you chose for the name in both englishand japanese alphabet

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing actually about the neck deal, but honestly it doesn't bother me too much now that it's complete. I think where it sits it's not too ugly to look at. However, I will be more cautious about my positioning and posing next time now that you've mentioned it.
Also, you're right. Most dragon/bat wings are somewhat transparent, but in both Fire Emblem: Fates and Smash Bros. WiiU/3DS, they're not see through at all. I don't think it's limitations either because I'm pretty sure the WiiU can handle transparency. I found that weird too, but hey, I don't make the characters, I just draw them, y'know? :A

Is Corrin fun too use overall? I'm considering getting him/her but I'm not sure.

Corrin is okay in my opinion. I considered picking them up when they first came out but decided that the character's attacks overall were just too laggy for me.
On the other hand, fun? Oh, they're so much fun to use! They have so many different attacks that don't mimic any other character. Plus, who doesn't like turning into a dragon once in a while? I'd say go for it if you have the extra buck!

Yeah I like how you went for a more painterly shading style. I think you pulled it off nicely.
I say it is really good to see you trying out new things because that's the way you learn. Staying in your comfort zone gets you nowhere! (no intended pun)
You should've seen my stuff from before if you haven't yet. From lots of trial and error you develop your style and that's the way art works, or at least should.

I think I'm going to keep trying it. My plain shading style can only work for so many characters, and I want to be able to make many different ones. I know exactly what you're talking about!

I honestly find it pretty fun to blend colours to create various tones. I'm mad on colour, and I guess you can see it in my pics.
I'm happy to see people develop their style by trying out new things. Makes it entertaining for myself as a viewer, haha. Lots of new things to look forward to!
