Not to be overly detail observant but this is academy dash. Wonderbolt RD would have a full body aerodynamic suit. The recruit suit is only the front half so that they may train with more than likely what is very slight restriction of movmement in their wings.

No No hardly an issue...Just an observation. Some artists I have aided are very particular about being show accurate. I for one embrace freedom of creativity rather than somebody tieing themselves down to the work of another. I mean where is the room for growth if an artist once in a while does not take a risk?
Personally I don't understand the full body suits the wonderbolts wear. I mean I understand uniforms and all, but most of the bolts look amazing so why cover half of it. Probably just jealous that even with technology, they can't pull off a sonic rainboom yet lol

Well it's less a case of that, and more a case of it being, for all intents and purposes, Dash 'being' a Wonderbolt for all practical purposes. I might change it in anyway, as there is no excuse for purposefully being lax on accuracy (when there is no genuine artistic or creative merit in being so).
I would argue that there is little to do with functionality in terms of their design. In their design, I would have imagined that obvious and clear distinction from other supporting and background characters would have been important. Moreover, it's a pertinent symbol for Dash - the uniform epitomises the glory and worthiness that it represents, in a semiotic sense.
