Description For the 22nd Theme "Mother Nature", I drew a picture of the Fairy Woods, a place from my original fantasy story "The Cronicles of Wonder".

The Fairy Woods is located in the Southeastern corner of the fantasy world known only as Wonder. When Wonder was still a brand new world, five elemental spirits were made responsible for giving Wonder its life and beauty. The Nature Spirit of the Southeast created a massive forest and populated it with many kinds of animals, birds, and living shrubbery.

Despite having created a beautiful eternal forest, the Nature Spirit still felt an inner sadness. The spirit itself inhabited the largest tree in the forest, called the Tree of Sorrows. Realizing its sadness came from a sense of loneliness, the Nature Spirit of the Southeast decided to create a race of childlike humanoids who would live in the forest with the Tree of Sorrows and serve as the forest's tenders. Travelers to the forest would often refer to these childlike forest tenders as 'Fairies' which their race came to be known as.

Very rarely did a fairy ever leave the forest, and after the forest was attacked by primitive gremlins seeking to harvest the powers of the Tree of Sorrows for their own dark purposes, the fairies were forced to use an artifact of powerful druidic magic called the Perfect Flower to seal off the forest from outsiders. The now forbidden forests came to be known as the Fairy Woods.

Circumstances regarding the warlock Jason Brooks and a powerful magic gem known as the Emerald of Nature resulted in the breaking of the seal created by the Perfect Flower. The fairies were wary of outsiders after the gremlin attacks of the past, but were befriended by the mighty Sorwin warrior Marx the Mighty, as well as a young human girl who turned out to be one of the seven Guardian Spirits who would be reunited to banish Jazenok Blackskull's evil presence from Wonder forever.

Recently, the Fairy Woods became the home of the twin daughters of the imp Lucy, known as Banshee and Siryn. Forced to flee from their father's wrath after choosing good over evil, the twins came to Wonder with Felicia, the young Queen of Wonder, choosing the Fairy Woods as their new home.
