My first still life painting. I chose metal because I find artwork with metal in it fascinating. I don't know why. I sat long and hard staring at the objects on the table before I sketched out the painting and started to apply the paint. I thought "what color is metal?" Grey? Bluish Grey? maybe some other colors thrown in? How do those realist guys paint that stuff? So I looked at the colors very closely, and painted exactly what I saw. It wasn't until the next painting I did that I realized what I was actually doing and seeing.Related content
