Description

Finally a spaari boat. I've roughly had an idea for their aesthetics in my head for a while now, but it never came out right when I tried to put it down. Being a bunch of 7ft tall space-hornets, the spaari have a very different mindset and sense of design aesthetics from the other species, and are fond of these multi-hull designs with connecting bits in between.

The spaari probably have the most advanced robotics and AI of the current species in-setting, and they use it everywhere. From everyday automation, to robotic proxies that can go out and explore/interact on worlds they'd struggle with (due to being native to a low gravity homeworld and mostly-ectothermic), to their military tech. While they do use lasers, kinetic weapons, missiles and such, the real focus of their military are the combat drones. Add onto this the face that spaari tend to build their ships relatively light and speedy, and their naval doctrine tends to focus on controlling range and using dispersed drone swarms to engage enemies alongside or independently of their host ship.

The Conclave-republic itself, I figure is a mid-sized spaari colonial power. Bigger than most colonies, but still smaller and less influential than their coreworld population centers. Probably close enough to where interacting with other species via the gate network isn't unheard of either.
