Description Not too long ago, I heard the 911 tape of the man who found the body of the 6 year-old girl in California - I read that she was laid to rest today. I was on my way home when I heard the 911 tape. On my way home to my 18 month-old son. It is difficult to drive with tears in your eyes. I have though a lot about the child abductions in the news lately. I get so angry and upset. I cannot possibly put into words what I feel, but here, at least, is an attempt. It is not my best work, but I hope it makes you pause and think.

Im not a parent but i have 5 sisters and 1 brother and i gaurd them and watch over them with my life.

i'm totally there man! i have a 7 year old and a 7 month old, and it's a scary freakin world for kids today!! your baby is absolutely beautiful btw, and this is so full of emotion!!! very nice!

love this one. it does make you stop and think about lifes lil precious ones. was a great read and a good capture of emotion.

I really like this poem. I'm not a parent but I work with kids and this past summer I was a full-time babysitter for 3 kids..and the thought of one of them being hurt or kidnapped tears me up! Great Work! (your son is adorable, too!)

I too find the actions of these abductors enraging. This is a powerful piece, and I do believe you when you say you will kill whomever tries to take your child away. Having none of my own, I cannot fully empathize... but having a 18 month old niece, I do understand to an extent.

I like this, and I'm not a parent either, but I do understand that bond...It makes me want to cry now to think of all those children who are raped and killed when they are like 7...that's just horrible...Anyway...Great poem.

I'm not a parent, so I could never understand the bond that you would have with a child. Nevertheless, this is very powerful poetry, and from the heart. Greatwork. Hope you get some of the tension out soon Good Luck and keep writing!

BTW - this is a picture of him when he was only a month or so old. This is the only one good one I could find of him sleeping.
