Wish: "i wish to be happy again"
After being stricken with grief, anger, and regret after she was forced to leave her cheating husband, after years of giving him her love she realized what she wished to happen. When she met Mr. Dark she wished in hopes that she could escape those hard times and be able to finally move on with her life. What she didn't know was that her wish would not truly make her happy but make her appear happy, only being able to express being happy, no matter the situation, losing the ability to show any other facial expression besides a smile. Her words will be said with a grin and laugh even if they are twisted and dark. Within she still suffers from all the horrible feelings she carries with her. Too this day she regrets this wish and is trying to work it off.

On the outside she comes off as a bit overly happy and cheerful despite her situation. This can be taken by others as a bit strange or rude, and in turn she has little to no friends. Lonesomeness from within strikes her daily but there is no way for her to express it without coming off as joking. Who could take you seriously if you say things with a smile and a laugh? She cannot stand how she has to smile to everyone and would rather keep people away, she only knows in the end she will fail at keeping them near if she got the chance. Though she has lived a long life so far she cannot seem to get out of her old habits within her personality

History:
Many years have passed but the memories are still fresh in her mind.

As a little girl Quintessa grew up within one of the more wealthy families, living by rules set by her parents who wanted to look their best. She learned how to be a proper lady and to always act calm in situations that deemed otherwise. She never enjoyed any of the classes she was put in, meaningless things such as sewing or playing the violin were what she had to deal with on a daily basis. She needed her means of escape and that was in her grandmother's garden. It was there where she could be free and not be seen or judged by those around her.

On one occasion around the age of twelve an unexpected guest was awaiting her within the garden. A boy around her age was there to greet her with a smile and a bow. Her first instinct was to give a little snort of laughter at this boy who was acting so proper in front of a girl who had stripped away her skirt to play around the garden in her bloomers. With a bit of convincing she managed to get the boy to play a few games she had made up in her days spent alone. In those few hours spent together they had bonded to the point of friendship. Once back in proper attire and a promise made to never tell anyone about their time spent together they parted. When Quin finally arrived home she was surprised to see the boy once again with who appeared to be his father. He too was from a wealthy family and when she looked to her own mother and father they introduced the two to her. The boy was to be her fiancee.

At first she was opposed to the idea of an arranged marriage but there was nothing for her to do to get out of it due to the strong grip her parents had on her life. Years passed and as they reached their 16th year the two were to marry. After all the time spent together she couldn't help but truly fall in love with the boy and she thought he loved her the same.

They moved away to their own home to spend their new married life together. As time progressed and she grew older with the boy she loved, she became a mother of a little girl and was absorbed into the life of a mother. Meanwhile back at home she was unaware even throughout her childhood it had begun, the tension beginning to grow between her mother and father, they had seemed so happy. She could only pray that her and her husband wouldn't end up the same as them.

As her child grew up into a young teen they had begun to noticed how she had begun to get more ill by the day. As a child she was often frail but not as bad as she had begun to appear then. As time passed it only got worse until the point of her death. Unlike other families who would come together in such a harsh time with dealing with a loss of someone so loved and young, her and her family grew apart. Her husband could barely look at her, he was hardly around now during the days and would come home late. Only after an outing did she come home to find her husband with another woman in bed. Her prayers were far from being answered and she was filled with rage. How could the love she thought they had turn so sour.

She left him in a rage and with sadness as her heart that was broken from two losses in the span of months. She returned home and was yelled at by her mother with harsh comments about how she brought the problem on herself, her mother knew what she had been doing when she was younger and would later say that if she had worked harder on her studies maybe she would of been able to keep her husband from straying away. The child's death was as well her fault for not baring a strong child.

She left the home and lived astray for a few years, it was not until her late 30's did she have the chance to meet Mr. Dark and the curse of a wish was granted.

Her time spent at the circus in the beginning was acceptable she thought, it was a means of escape once again. Working the carousel came naturally, who doesn't smile when thinking about one? But as time passed and she was forced to stay young and unable to move on she realized even more so how much of a curse this would be.

Likes: spinning around, shining her hooves, cherry pie, "back in my day" sayings, her rose hair clip, sitting outside with a cool breeze
