Description
A mid-sized SUV built from the collaboration between SsangYong and Mercedes-Benz.

First produced in 1993, the Musso was available with a range of Mercedes engine options; the 2.3 litre M111 inline-4 and 3.2 litre M104 straight-6 for petrol; as well as 2.3 litre OM601 four-pot and 2.9 litre OM602 inline-5 for diesel options.

The SUV was normally a five-seater, with rare models being equipped with foldable side seats in the boot for practicality of seven, During the production run of the Musso from 1993 to 2005, there were also several badge engineered versions regionally: it was sold as a Dadi [PRC], Morattab [Iran], Daewoo [Germany, Iceland, UK] and as a TagAZ [Russia].

Some markets even received the Musso sporting the Mercedes three-pointed star emblem up front; considering SsangYong's tech-sharing deal with the German marque at the time. A crew cab pickup body variant named the Musso Sports was offered in 2002, Later models of that body available with a turbo diesel option as well as others like a canopy, extra tail lights, 'fins', a chrome trim, and an extra row of wheels for more hauling capability.

As in SsangYong's modern lineup since 2018, the Musso nameplate was revived as a pickup model [Q200] based on the same body-on-frame platform as the second gen Rexton [Y200].
