A DD is not an "award.' It's just a feature, and all skill levels are eligible. Also, the artist can see this comment; Don't punish them for what the community chose. They didn't choose or try to get a DD.

It's a cleanly drawn, funny comic with good expressions and, unlike your work, his lines are smooth and well formed. And as I said, all skill levels are eligible. Once again, DDs are not an award, they're just a feature.

Probably not really that funny to the average viewer (I raised an eyebrow at most, wondering if the apparent punchline was all there was to it), but apparently you have a niche fanbase that giggles madly at the idea of bribing someone to hide a murder weapon with used gum so maybe it doesn't matter that it's not very funny to most other people.
I dunno, I flipped through a few of these and I just didn't see what was so funny about bland punchlines that were barely punchlines. It kind of feels like watching a low budget cartoon aimed at 5 year olds. The kind you watch just because it's on while you're waiting for the good show to come on.
If you're not familiar with Hyperbole and a Half you may want to google that up to see a better executed example of what you're trying to do here.

The artist can make whatever kind of art or comics he wants. As long as he likes what he's doing. If other people find them funny, so be it. If they don't, so be it. He didn't ask for the DD, or the fanbase, or the giggles.

I personally don't think they're "trying" to be anything like Ali's posts. Instead of telling someone to "go look at this so you can be more like them," just tell them how you think they could improve without essentially telling them to copy ideas from another "artist".
