They actually didn't make Kaldur up. They changed what he looked like a bit, but his a real comic character. He's just from another time line.....they have a lot of those. Anyways I love this banner!

hmm not to get super technical, but the comics version is actually based on the YJ character, so the creators of the show made him up, and DC decided to implement him into their continuum. And thank you!
