Description Flygon is nicknamed "the elemental spirit of the desert." Because its flapping wings whip up a cloud of sand, this PokΓ©mon is always enveloped in a sandstorm while flying.

Sandstorming Flygon But really, its dream world ability should be Sand Stream even though the lack of Levitate would probably really suck. Painted on my iPad like everything else I do~

So I was searching for a 'mon to do for 's Ground-type contest ([link] ) and then I came across [link] so I was like holycrapIshoulddrawaFlygonIfreakingloveFlygons and now I kinda wanna enter that but asdjhgfjhgdfsf I'd have to do a second one cause I'd feel cheap entering the same art into two contests and guuuuuh
/rant

The entire DA archive and there is NOT ONE comprehensive tutorial on painting whirling masses of sand ._______. Not one. I feel so alone without Photoshop... (and apparently, Sandstorm is a popular cat's name)

I guess I tried to kinda mix my style with Pokemon - well, Ken Sugimori's - style. I don't really know what to feel about this, so tell me your opinions, kay? :I Plus I'll love you foreeeeeeeeveeer and ever if you give me any sort of concrit

Yeah, there are a lot of painting apps that give a lot for a ridiculously low price I think they're better programs to start out with than say, Photoshop or SAI 'cause of the simplicity (though the lack of options can get annoying sometimes)

Woah, thanks! The app I used actually has a brush creating feature where you can select a shape and a grain and mix and match so the texture's kinda a custom brush I made. Good luck on yours!

I use Procreate It goes on sale quite often so you might want to wait for that~ I think it's one of the best drawing apps for iPad (AND the others are expensive too )

THis picture is... absolutely wonderful!!! I LOVE the pose you put flygon in, and the texture you gave him looks completely natural Trust me, I don't think you NEED a tutrial for drawing sand, it looks PERFECT. Five stars from me!!!
