My dear: This char is over 14 years old. So gather some information before forming your opinion, please. Personally I think it's a little cheap and disrespectful just to throw these kind of comments at someone without actually saying anything useful about the artwork (would have been nice, dude 
I agree: you see this scar far too often today.
But just to inform you:
-As I said: this character is more than 14 years old - could even be more already but I lost count of years.
-so he looks like this for over a decade for sure
-he is a rpg character and this scar was inflicted in game in a fight - means: I even did not add it to his design. It's more part of the story he lived through.
So much for why he looks like this and for your point of "these days".
Back when he got his scar there weren't that many chars with something similar around I bet. I don't know for sure however because I had no internet at that times.
But this doesn't even matter because it's not about being "the fist or only one", "original" or "cool" or whatever - it's story realted. Same goes for him being odd eyed.
I know there are hell a lot of characters that even share more with him than just the scar - I've seen more black, odd eyed wolves I could count and some even had this scar. A reason to change his design because there are others looking similar? Or because he looks "boring" the way he is?
I thought about it, yes - but I decided against it. I also though about giving him some fancy markings - but why? As I said: his appearance is formed by his story. Changing him just to make him look more "cool" or "unique" or whatever you want to call it would seem wrong to me.
So you see: despite the fact that this scar is overused as hell I will not change his looks. First because he has been like this for what seems forever to me, second because I don't need to. A third factor might be that I don't see why I should change my rather old character while all the ones that came after him are ok with looking this way...oh by the way: why exactly did you choose my submission for this debate?
I also like "cool" looking characters that appear "unique" or "extraordinary" - sure. But Dallas just has to be Dallas for me. And this includes his boring scar.
Long answer is long but this had to be said.

I didn't mean to be rude. I was just saying that it's a pity that something so cool is being overused and thereby losing its originality, but I still hold the deepest love for these kind of scars. I remember meeting my uncle for the first time this year and he had a scar just like that except over the other eye. I told him how envious I was.
I didn't mean to imply that I thought your picture was unoriginal, it's a great piece. I love it. I even see part of myself in it somehow. And I know exactly where you're coming from, having had a character look that way for so long, then thinking about changing something but then deciding not to. I've had a lot of similar things happen to me. So cudos to you, keep up the good work. Nice and dark, found it, saw it, loved it.

Ich weiß gar nicht wo ich anfangen soll!
Zuerst – ich liebe dieses Bild einfach! Es ist wirklich (und das sag ich nicht nur, weil ich eh Dally-bekloppt bin) das genialste und beste bild von ihm überhaupt. Ich kann meinen Blick nicht davon wegbekommen ... und – das ist das schönste – ich bekomme so dermaßen Gute Laune von dem Bild xD
Beim menschlichen Dall find ich besonders die Augen richtig genial. Wie ich schon sagte, kommt das Raubtierhafte richtig gut zur geltung .... außerdem liebe ich seine augen eh ... kann man sich drin verlieren.... @@ finde deine Details wie Haare und Schatten sowieso richtig geil ...Halsmuskulatur ist schön detailreich und mag den dreitagebart xD
Sein gesichtsausdruck ist auch klasse!
Der Wolfsdally ist super... das fell .. gggrrrr XD ich möchte es durchwuscheln.... die kette ist spitze und mag sein „durchnarbtes“ auge .... liebe dieses eisblaue ...
Fazit: das bild ist top und ist nicht umsonst mein lieblingsbild.... und ich bin auch für mehr dallas bilder! Auf jeden fall! Ich helfe ja mit xD oder versuchs....

Der Blick ist unbeschreiblich oo Und Dallas als Wolf ist einfach nur geil! Das Fell ist, wie Kiara schon sagte, einfach nur verdammt flauschig anzusehen und ist dir sehr gelungen ^^

Nein, also....BAMM! XD Ich mags wirklich sehr leiden irgendwie....
Mal beim felligen Dally angefangen... das Fell ist wirklich wahnsinnig schön, man mag glatt mit den Fingern durchfahren.... selbst wenn sie dann ab wären, das wärs wert >XD.... auch die Haltung allgemein gefällt mir sehr... passt... sieht nicht zu steif aus, sondern echt ziemlich lebendig... und... jaaa....
Dann das menschi-Dally- wahnsinnig toller Blick! Auch hier find ich die Haare mal wieder echt toll... ich mag deine Art, Haare/Fell zu zeichnen sehr, genau wie bei den Augen! Dallys Gesichtsausdruck gefällt mir sehr! Thyri erwähnte im Forum ja schon mal seinen Raubtierblick, der hier wirklich sehr gut rüberkommt, ohne dass es zu übertrieben wirkt, find ich.. ich find auch die Haut sehr gelungen, sieht ziemlich echt aus... (... und ich mag die Kette! immernoch! XD)
Ja... also.... mir gefällt auch der Hintergrund irgendwie voll oO ist ja an sich eigentlich schlicht, und dennoch passt er gut ins Gesamtbild...unterstreicht den Titel sehr...
