Thanks for your comments on my shots from the Eskdale area Bob. Sikku and I were very lucky in that a fellow DA memeber met up with us here in Keswick and drove us around for the day on a photo shoot.

I am so surprised at this scene Rebecca I never imagined the Lake District to ever look like this to me it looks more like a drought here in Australia even with the tarn full than a scene from the UK where water is in abundance.

I hope the grass greens up soon and the wildflowers start blooming it will look so pretty then..I must say you are moving around now, I see you are not that far from Egremont where Tony's Sister lives..

Looking forward to your next stop and photo's.

This is quite high up and definately has a barren look. Most of mountain passes and high areas are like this and some even more so because there is so much slate and the sides of the mountains are just grey. I think heather and ferns are about it for flora but it will get greener as the ferns grow up through the dead bracken. I find this landscape stunningly beautiful rather than pretty I don't think it could ever be called that.

Yes I had a look at a few sites Rebecca and they all stated it was largest and one of the highest tarns in the UK so I doubt that I will be climbing up to it

I would love to see a pic of this Heather if there is any blooming before you go back home I just Googled image and find its like the Heath they grow down south so no doubt it is from the same family..

I think the wild heather blooms in late summer and autumn so you won't be seeing any purple in my shots.

This tarn is drivable to, or at least to within a short fairly level walk. I don't think that there was any heather in this particular area, or ferns for that matter, it looks like just dead grass in the photo but I guess it might eventually turn green.

I should try coming over here sometime when everything isn't dormant...but then the tourists would also be in season.
