Description The Three Musketeers is my favorite book of all time. I've had a strange obsession with musketeers ever since I was in middle school. It went away briefly, but I broke my ankle in 2007 and I spent 6 months on a couch. I worked from home, with my computer on my coffee table, leaning over from the couch. Somehow, because I had so much leisure time (I couldn't do kung fu...yes I broke my ankle during sparring), I started looking at musketeer stuff again. I actually comb through Ebay and Etsy looking for musketeer memorabilia to buy...statues, books, charms...So here is a painting with d'Artagnan, beseiged by assassins on all sides. He is attacked while on his way to England to retrieve the diamond studs for the Queen. If you haven't read the book by Alexandre Dumas, I highly recommend it! Or get an audio book from Audible! Gee, I love Audible.

I started off with a very tight drawing in Photoshop. I flatted the colors on different layers. I painted a b/w under-painting on multiply. Through trial and error, I tried different adjustment layers for light, shadows, bounce light. I painted on top of that and tightened up forms and revised colors.
