The blue colour is usually a positive symbol. It is connected with the idea of infinite, tranquility… but also the unconscious and the unknown. The perplex fear in the eyes expression seem to interrogate about what is going to happen. The ravens are birds connected with death, the end of something. Without space around, only the eyes remain, the windows and symbols of the soul. Fate is not written. Ravens aren’t the masters of fate. Ravens are just the shadows of inner doubts, interrogations and choices.
Whether you consider or not these ideas convey with your artwork and the intention behind it, this is the story that your image “told” me. A very expressive image, visually very powerful!
Since I do not know how to write critiques, I write meditations, stories, poems…
FRONTIER
This is the end, my beautiful friend! – A raven said to his blue soul.
This is the beginning, my beautiful friend! – Another raven said to the same blue soul, assuming it belonged to him.
And the soul opened her eyes wide and saw in the same second the end and the beginning flying towards her exactly at the same time. They had the same voice, the same colour, the same shape. How could she know which was which?
I came to take you with me! – The first raven said in a cavilous hollow voice.
I came to go with you! – The second raven uttered in an almost inaudible tone.
The blue soul extended her invisible hands towards the second voice:
—If you want to come with me, then is with you that I will go!
Possessed by the rage of the defeated, the first raven tried to tear both eyes of the blue soul so she wouldn’t be able to see the road to get out of that white desert. The second raven flew faster than the wind and offered his body to protect his blue soul.
Both ravens died in the duel, without blood, without memory, without history. The sandstorm came and both disappeared.
In the distance, the blue soul is still walking towards the West. In the sky, only clouds and the promise of rain.
—This is the beginning, my friend! —She said when she glimpsed in the distance the first tree of the frontier.

I have to admit I never thought of such depth when painting this, but I'm glad that it turned out this way. It's certainly an interesting way of looking at it. Frontier fits perfectly and is amazingly written. ^-^ Thank you kindly for this! :3

Love this piece with the birds in the eyes. Did you splatter the paint?

I'm glad you do ^-^
No actually, not much xD I use a straw and blow the wet paint around ^-^ I only splattered a bit of paint to get the tiny dots of colour around the page.
