Description This is not meant to be used. It is a functional teapot, but only that it has all working elements of a teapot. It's supposed to be strictly art.

I think I may reglaze this piece. I stained it, but that didn't do too much to it.

I agree with the birch tree thing. I would suggest against reglazing. The stain makes it look so natural. It's gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous.

This is absolutely brilliant.
I love the structure, at first glance the
two overhead branches reminded me
of antlers.
The wood texture you've created
on the ceramic is really awesome.
~ I'd drink tea out of this teapot any day!
Beautiful work.

oooo, carefull about glazing that! you don't want the surface to take away too much from the form/sturcture of the piece! it is lovely

I know >.<

I developed a glaze that's dry, and a bark color. It cracks pretty naturally too, I'm just hesitant to put it on anything. I'm going to leave this one the way it is and do some tests with that glaze.

I like how this turned out with the stain. It kind of looks like a birch tree.

Thanks

There's a slight twinge of pink present in real life that makes it not look like birch, so that's most people's criticism of this one. That, and that it doesn't have much variation in color.

My obsession with tea really makes me love your tea pots. You're so amazing at sculpting. I wish they still had sculpting classes at my uni...

Thanks Marissa

That sucks about your university, it's rather surprising that they don't. Do they offer ceramics classes?

They use to have sculpting. But, well, my school sucks and got rid of it. The building we used as the sculpting building was taken by the nursing majors... ~_~

Yeah, there is ceramics but I'm not really into it. I'd actually like to have a hand at small-model sculpting but I just may have to teach myself that on my own time.

You're welcome!
