Yes, Zita the Spacegirl makes her way into my collection of fanart with a few friends in tow! I first discovered this series a couple years ago, and I really liked the concept of an Earth girl trying to find her way home. The artist, Ben Hatke, took inspiration from many sources like Bone, Hayao Miyazaki films, and lots of science fiction, and it really stands out in his beautiful artwork.
The characters are, from left to right:

One: Built by a race called the Scriptorians, he first of a series of robots known as Heavily Armed Mobile Battle Orbs. Seeing his acronym as completely undignified (H.A.M.B.O.? Seriously?) He prefers to call himself One, as it symbolizes his authority and originality over other models of his kind. An E-123 Omega sort of guy, he'll gadly reduce his enemies to scrap and ash if not prevented from doing so, and has a personal grudge against his creators and his series of robots.

Zita: A lost Earth girl who pressed a button she wasn't supposed to, and now finds herself in a distant galaxy. Overtime, she's made a lot of strange friends and partners, and overcame her fear of the unknown, but her primary goal is still to get back home again.

Robot Randy: A stumbling, bumbling, cowardly robot found in the junkyard. His skittish personality hides a clever, skilled thinker and a powerful warrior, though I doubt he'll ever actually overcome his fears long enough to be one.

Guess which character is my favorite. Hint: It's the one I'm doing a solo piece of very soon.
