Description
In the last episode of Absolute DC, The Light and their Society of super villains were bested by the heroes of Earth and the cure to their engineered disease, which was slowly killing the Justice League, was taken from the villains. A surviving A/V file taken from The Society’s data banks that revealed to the recovered Justice League that The Light is really Ben 10, a fellow hero. However, when the JL took Ben into custody and brought him to their Watchtower satellite, Ben’s Omnitrix exploded in a burst of energy and threw back our heroes. Ben has now transformed into the creator of the Omnitrix, the one controlling Ben the whole time, and the true identity of The Light… William McIntyre, alias: Prometheus.
When the energy died down, Prometheus was standing before the Justice League, replete with the armor, weapons, and mind-enhancing helm he was wearing the day he originally died. And still upon his wrist was his creation, the Omnipotence Matrix (which we call The Omnitrix, for short). The heroes of the Justice League realized what was happening and Booster Gold attempted to travel into the past using his own time travel technology to warn the JL in time, but the villain launched a dart full of tranquilizer poison at Booster to knock him out. The JL then all rushed Prometheus at once. Using his Omnitrix’s powers, along with his sword, pistols, and the abilities granted by his helmet, Prometheus fought back and held his own, even against the likes of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. The JL’s battle against Prometheus raged for an hour with neither side giving up. All the while, Prometheus was trying to reach the orbital trajectory controls for the Watchtower that the JL knew he could not reach, no matter what. However, despite their best efforts, the Justice League was too tired and injured to continue fighting, despite trying to stay up. Soon enough, Prometheus reached the control room he was seeking, and he began hacking into the Watchtower’s database to seize control of the satellite itself. Using the controls, Prometheus rerouted the satellite out of its normal orbit, and he then proclaimed he’s going to crash the Watchtower into Washington, DC. If he cannot exterminate the heroes, he’s going to make sure that they cannot be trusted by normal people again. Limping weakly towards Prometheus as the villain was making his way to the transport hangar to escape the impending crash, Superman, weakened by Prometheus’ use of krypton gas, attacked one last time but all he could do was knock his helmet off. Prometheus knocked Supes down once more and calmly made his way to the hangar. However, when Prometheus reached the hangar, a flash of light appeared before him to block him from the Javelin ship. It was Naomi McDuffie, a member of the Linear Men, who said she’s here to stop Prometheus. The villain laughed at this, proclaiming that, while he has no idea who she is, he still has the upper hand against her. However, it’s no weapon nor power Naomi is going to use against Prometheus, but a person. When the light dissipated, next to Naomi was Gwen Tennyson, the cousin of Prometheus’ captive host Ben. Gwen appealed to Ben, knowing he’s still alive within Prometheus’ form. This availed nothing, as Prometheus zoomed forward, shoved Naomi out of the way, and grabbed Gwen by the neck. However, before he could snap her neck, Gwen seized Prometheus’ uncovered face and blasted him. He reeled back and found that a bizarre symbol had been applied to his face. She stood back up and revealed it’s not actually Gwen Tennyson… it’s The Shade. Using his Emphus device, Shade had disguised himself as Gwen Tennyson to get close enough to Prometheus to apply the symbol to his face. A symbol that means, in his alien race’s language, “freedom”. The symbol took hold and Ben emerged from Prometheus’ body, unconscious but alive. The Shade and Naomi managed to get Ben 10 and the JL members together in one spot so Naomi could teleport them all to the Earth safely. Thankfully, Batman was able to reroute the descending satellite so that it would land in the Atlantic Ocean instead of in any city. However, Prometheus himself was left behind by the Shade and Naomi and he died as the Watchtower crashed into the ocean.
Some days later, Ben Tennyson, his identity as a hero revealed to the American government, was found “not guilty” for Prometheus’ actions. The Justice League removed the Omnitrix from Ben’s wrist and managed to delete all traces of Prometheus’ consciousness from the device. Ben agreed that the Omnitrix was proven to be too dangerous to be used anymore, so the DEO (Department of Extranormal Operations) took custody of it. As life returned to some semblance of normalcy for people and the heroes of the world, Superman and Wonder Woman began observing the creation of the League’s new headquarters, in Washington, DC. They will call it, “The Hall of Justice”.
