I don't get how it's not art!
If art = beauty then everything can be art!
Though, being narrow minded isn't beautiful!

i ran into an art snob who hates this sort of art. it's a statement to him to frack off.

Thank you.
It would only piss one person off in particular who I had a recent and rather nasty exchange with on devART.

Thats tight brotha. Great work in my humble opinion. The vector of Cindy (is that her?) or whoever Ms. Hottness is is ... hot. Great working on the background as well, the halftone works well. It give the work a bit more color but doesn't distract from the overall effect of the design, quite nice indeed.

there's a certain deviant who thinks that what I post and what I do for a living can possibly be called art.
so I think I might post a few things that this art professor doesn't consider art.

no i like it quite a lot, great vector and great texture, although i dont like the what seems to be colour halftone, or something of a similar look. but i think if it was downplayeda bit, maybe desaturated it would add a nice texture to the rest of the image without its tell tale look and annoying colour.

Same here.... I think if you repeated the color halftones a few more times, then set the layer to luminance, it would have look a little better. So whole figure is vector created?

the model (my wife) was created in illustrator cs, with the texture layers added and mixed in photoshop.
thanks for the comments.

no, this is in response to a certain art teacher that is a member of deviantART.
bit of a snob and feels destined for greatness.
but you know the general rule of thumb...those who can't, teach.
thanks for your input. i'll keep the colour halftone suggestion in mind next time I have to do something similar.
thanks for you advice!
