I adore art pieces like these.
Its simple, subtle, sweet, and appealing.
The vision and the technique that you used is a pretty good one.
It can be done quickly and it looks presentable however, maybe if you can add simple shading techniques to the character, It would look a whole lot better because without shading, a lot of 2-D characters look flat, even with dimensional shapes like the wrinkles of her clothes and her face and her hair and so on, so maybe shading on her clothes, face or hair would make her stick out a whole lot more thus making your drawing more dimensional an more attractive.
Subject aside, your originality is very genuine and the impact on which it has is greatly influencing, especially for me.
I love it when artists take a character out of fiction and place them in a situation that is not canon with their world, but is identifiable in our world, in which you made her 100% human, gave her a simple dress, and gave her a personality that fits her character in both pony and human form as well, so all in all, I really like your style of drawing and I look forward to seeing more art from you.
Oh, and I think Maud looks very good in that pose, especially with the kind of body you gave her, I think she looks really sexy.

I tried to keep my love for the charter of Maud out of this critique so as not to be biased.
The line quality as always is very good, clear and with purpose. The pose seems more bosy then I would think Maud would be, she is a very subtle charter to me. Thought I must say that her expression feels very spot on. The coloring is right on. I would love to see this shaded. I love the inclusion of bolder, it's very on with her as a charter. A darker background might have worked better or maybe a gradient with it being dark on the bottom.
Over all it's very nice peace. Keep up the good work. ^_^

Yeah, most peoples designs that I've seen tend to make her a bit on the short/puggy side like Pinkie, but I like this better.

What I mean is that when other people make humanizations of MLP characters, lots of people have the tendency to add all sorts of bells and whistles to make it look cooler.
...But on the other hand, all that does it add unnecessary flair, and it just becomes too much. It stops being true to the character, and it takes all elements of that character's design and throws it into the fire. I doesn't look good, and it doesn't look like the character.
