She definitely looks like a Catahoula, although with shelter dogs, it can be difficult to tell if they have no known ancestry. A mix of Australian Shepherd with a muscular, short-coated breed can turn out to look a lot like a Catahoula, for instance. If she IS a Catahoula, I just hope you know what you're getting yourself into! I bred NALC-registered Catahoulas for 17 years, and they are definitely NOT for inexperienced dog owners! I got to the point where I refused to place puppies as pets and would only let them go to experienced hog hunters or cattle ranchers or people looking for a Schutzhung/Ring Sport dog, since with only one exception, all of the pups I'd reluctantly let go to pet homes either were brought back to me within the first year or surrendered to shelters when the owners could not deal with the behaviors that make a Catahoula a Catahoula. I don't know what your level of experience is, or with what breeds, but just in case, I thought I'd give you a "heads-up".

I have two other dogs who are very strong willed and I got them under control, besides, even if she started to get to strong willed I would never take her back or give her away, I would just work harder, but thanks for the heads up!
