Well I searched a while ago and it made sense
at first I thought the Ariel you were talking about is the one from the little mermaid

No, sorry.... I mean I understand, her famous name would take any thought away from the spirit of winds in Shakespeare's "The Tempest", but that is indeed the Ariel I refer to here. And if returning the Master Sword to its resting place somehow set my dear companion Fi free, in some sense, then it gives me a happier ending to Skyward Sword. I luv you Fi!

Looking back, I sometimes feel like Fi was based off Ariel, and at the end we set her free. Just a wild speculation though :/
