Description Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce 2 has always been piquing my interest--even though I've never played it before. It has always stood out to me with its original storyline and cast of characters--a host of unique fighters hailing from eras beyond the Three Kingdoms period.

We have the Xiang Yu the Hegemon King of Western Chu, his treasured beauty Yuji, the demonically ambitious Shi Huangdi, the goddess Xi Wangmu with her evil counterpart and the free-spirited Mu Wang of the Zhou Dynasty. They stand out from the rest of the TK cast and I find it a great shame that they have been forgotten after SF2 failed to make a Western release. Many newer fans seem to be oblivious to their existence, and fanart of them is minimal. I think there is still a little hope for them if KOEI wants to let one of their number star in Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate, or even make a SF3 which they have hinted of in an interview about Toukiden--but in the meantime I desire to give them some of the attention they deserve.

Here is Yuji, known in-game as Yu Meiren, the famous lover of Xiang Yu. She followed him wherever he went on his many campaigns, and the story of her sacrifice is especially well-known in Chinese culture--after Xiang Yu's final crushing defeat at the hands of Liu Bang, Yuji performed a sword dance and killed herself as to not be a hindrance to her lord. This tale has been dramatized in Chinese Opera under the title "The Hegemon Bades Farewell to his Concubine" (霸王别姬). Due to her mysterious origins and her tragic figure, Yuji sometimes replaces Diaochan as one of the Four Great Beauties of China.

KOEI has managed to perfectly render her design and persona: her appearance reflects her fragile beauty and her desire to follow her lord no matter where he goes. In the game she pleads with Shi Huangdi to grant her magical strength so she can fight alongside her lover on the battlefield. She also shares a special dialogue with Diaochan in one battle. Her weapon is also quite unique--a large flywheel--and if I ever get a chance to play as her, I think I'll enjoy the experience.

I haven't been drawing for a long time, so some things are off in the picture for sure--but still I think I've managed to do her justice.

I think I'll try my hand at some of the other SF2 characters soon. Enjoy!
