I had planed on getting this one up two weeks ago. -__-So any who Stoick is meeting Merida for the first time. He thinks Merida isn't Viking enough because she is a princess and doesn't understand what Hiccup see in her. But everything changes when she see her.

You know, I just realized something about this pic. You never made one of these for Hiccup meeting Merida's parents, at least not in the same way.

That would definitely be interesting to see. I imagine that Elinor would probably like Hiccup right away but Fergus would be all "what makes this scrawny little Viking think he's good enough for my daughter?"

Or that Elinor expected Hiccup to be a big brutish Viking who was smelly and wore furs and skulls and all that oh so lovely stuff, and Fergus would be wary of his daughter possibly being involved with a bloodthirsty Viking.

Somewhat. It was a little more complicated than we first understand it. Because the Vikings weren't simply all nothing but a bunch of barbarians who did nothing but raid, pillage, and rape villages.

Admittedly, I don't know much about Vikings or the history, but I remember hearing somewhere that many people who lived in Scandinavia during the Viking-era were people like farmers.

Yeah, they weren't all warriors, but as the Viking age progessed, the warrior occupation became more wide spread, since that offered a more lucrativeΒ job opportunity and better lands to farm, and so on.Β

Have you ever thought of doing a comic where Merida introduces Hiccup to her family. Β I'd think that scenario would be hilarious.
