I get the same thing when working on stuff, you don't realise at the time, but you draw reference from a mental library of ideas and experiences, which is helpful in making something unique and original (is what I think anyway, haha).

impressive how much detail ended up on the turtle too without making this too busy or anything. the bit of extra glow around her and all helps her stand out and the metal armor like shines turned out lovely
