Surprise! I'll bet you didn't see THIS comming, did ya?

I decided I was sick and tired of just posting one still figure after another. I kept asking myself as I'm sure most of you did "When are you gonna start posting actual comic pages and have characters do stuff?!" I'm happy to say that the wait is sort-of over!

I'm sorry for those of you who wanted my more original content, and I promise I'll get back to it later, but right now I must strike while the iron is hot, and start up this long-awaited fan-comic of mine.

As of right now, I don't have any other pages drawn, so consider this cover page a teaser of sorts for the moment - just something to tide you all over until I get the actual first issue done, and it WILL get done - I promise you that much! The timeline I'm looking at right now will have me start submitting actual pages of this at some point next month. I don't know when, but I'll do my best.

In any case, this is my DC fan-comic: The Justice Kids Issue 1: Super Sons and Daughters part 1. As some of you fans can tell, the title is meant to evoke memories of DC's Super Sons series, but with the twist of daughters added too. I mean, after all, it's 2021 - the girls deserve just as much love as the boys!

On that note, I must say that I'm impressed: at the time of typing this, Fury, daughter of Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor, has more favorites than the rest of her teammates, so I'll give her the honor of getting her own story-arc first, after I complete the introductory arc of course.

After the Intro/Origin Arc, and the Fury Arc, expect for Superboy and Nightstar to get their own Arcs since they are the next popular based on faves.

These will be followed by arcs for Huntress, Robin, and lastly Aquaboy. Please note that for reasons I cannot yet disclose, I was planning on saving Aquaboy's story arc for last no matter what. Trust me - the payoff will be HUGE!!!

See, the first initial stories will center around the main 6 kids Robin (Damien Wayne), Huntress, Superboy (Jonathan Kent), Nightstar, Aquaboy (Arthur Curry Jr.), and Fury (Lyta Trevor). This will be to make them well-established before any new Justice Kids join their team. I mean, since they're the stars, I felt you should get to know them better first before I added anyone new.

You can expect to see many other DC characters in this series. I'll mostly try to start with some characters who no one has heard of in years like The Weeper or Doctor Domino, and give them a fresh new spin for this new generation. Members of the Justice League and other groups will also make guest-star appearances (usually just one per story arc as a sort of "hero guest-star of the day" sort of thing), and I'll build my way up to the more infamous villains showing up later on in the series.

I always did like the original DCAU that started with the 90's Batman Animated series, and ended with The Justice League Unlimited, but I also liked shows like Static Shock and the 2000's Teen Titans, so this fan-comic will be my love-letter to fans of those series who always wanted to see the next generation take the stage. I kept them as kids so that way the current gen of adult heros could still be in their prime. This will also take inspiration from comics of course.

I will say this though: I know how much of a selfish brat Damien has been in various adaptations, so since he's one of the stars here, I'm going to try to make him more likeable as a character while still keeping that tough edge that his fans like about him. There will be call-backs to various classical DC comics events like Knightfall, The Judas Contract, or The Killing Joke just to name a few.

I know that Huntress is usually portrayed as an adult woman, but she'll be a little girl in this version so that she and her half-brother Damien can be equals. This is the original Huntress Helena Wayne who is the daughter of Batman and Catwoman (one of my favorite DC ships of all time).

Jonathan Kent is Superboy, and unlike SOME writers, I don't plan on aging him up just for convenience's sake! -_- So for those of you who like Super Sons, the original pair will be back here.

Nightstar is for the fans of the 2000's Teen Titans animated series, as her design shows. She'll like mustard just as much as her mom Starfire, putting it on everything she eats! And of course, she'll be best friends with Helena (since they grew up in the same house - Wayne Mannor), but unlike her mother, she'll be much more street-smart because she was born on Earth. And most importantly, she will NOT be a hate-filled, overweight goth who hates her mother!!! Those of you who know your media, you know who I'm talking about! Though I might make a playful jab at I.N.S.F. just to give those who hated it a bit of vindication for having to put up with it! Expect Cyborg, Beastboy, and Raven to make guest-star appeances as Nightstar will call them her uncles and her aunt respectively.

Years ago, Aquababy was killed by Black Manta in the story "Death of a Prince". This topic will be adressed in a very creative way later in this series. How exactly? You'll have to stick around to find out.

Lastly, this version of Fury combines the best (in my opinion) of both pre and post-crisis versions of her, having her be the daughter of Diana and Steve, but also be related to various members of the Greek Pantheon, such as Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades, and having learned skills/powers from each, and while I know she might seem a bit OP'd for a little girl, I will tell you she does have one major weakness that even Amanda Waller wasn't aware of when she made her recording! Since Fury's arc will be one of the first, you won't have to wait long to find out what it is!

In addition, I also plan on introducing a new villain to serve as one of the primary antagonists to the team. This new OC will be based upon something horrible that happened in the DCAU. I'll give you just one hint as to who they'll be based off of:

"You would have been proud to see him so strong, but all too soon, the serums and the shocks took their toll, and the dear lad began to share such secrets with me - secrets that are mine alone to know . . Bruce!" - Joker, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, Uncut version

In the DC Multiverse, anything can happen, so it's best if you keep an open mind. Other new OCs of mine created exclusively for this series will also show up, so look forward to a mix of old and new.
