Yeah, he's turning out to be a disappointment, but I was half expecting that from the start. Trump was never really part of the Alt Right, we just adopted him as a symbol because of some controversial comments he made on racial issues.
Maybe he'll redeem himself, maybe not.

I never supported Trump, but I will still condemn him for his action in Syria. Assad is, indeed, a dictator. However, just about every other group in the region that is trying to seize power are factionist jihadists, and have demonstrated themselves to be more dangerous than Assad's government. At the least, Assad is a secularist and the lesser evil of those in Syria. Where there a democratic option for the country, I would definitely say that Assad needs to go. However, I fear if Assad is taken from power that Syria will go the way of Libya or Iraq just as Senator Sanders pointed out.

A fair few legitimately did not want to drag the US into war. It was sort of their warped isolationism and pro-American stance. Forget that the ME even existed, except to wipe out Daesh.
Not saying that was plausible, feasible, or realistic, but humans aren't rational. The entire USA is war-weary, and after Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, few wanted to go into Syria. Clinton got flak for even suggesting the no fly zone, and all that blabber about 'she'll drag us to ww3' came from there.
So this attack on Assad, which could lead to toppling him and having another power-vacuum and cycle of violence, didn't fit with those voters. Hell, it barely fits with anyone. More people want Assad gone than would deposit military force to do so.

What's so warped about only going to war when absolutely necessary and to defend ourselves?!? Every war comes with a terrible price and our leaders should think long and hard before committing the nation to such a dark and terrible endeavor. BTW: this cartoon is proof that the "anti-war" left is bullshit propaganda. The so-called "anti-war" left is only anti-war when it suits them politically. Point a finger at the GOP during a war and scream "WARMONGER!" and not saying a fucking thing when a Democrat goes on the war path. All of the Democrats supported the Second Iraq invasion before they realized they got better polling numbers being against. Then they lied about supporting the war claiming they were always against it, though it's good to see you're more honest than RednBlack, who is a pathological liar and slanderer, on this issue and don't make phony appeals by motive and claiming people oppose Trump's military action only because they luv those dictators. They are war-weary and they see these interventions into the Middle East as counterproductive and do more to empower the jihadists than stabilize the Middle East. It's also why they hate guys like Ron Paul and Alex Jones so much-they are the true anti-war activists.
