First of all I'd like to say just how awesome this painting is! I love the framing with all those pointed rocks and the setting inside a cave - it really enhances the beast-like nature of the character. The lighting is very effective as well and that glow you've given her adds to the fantasy look of it. Your shading looks spot on to me. The eggs and the nest don't interfere with her central role rather than detail it beautifully and her position over them, that protectiveness - you've really captured it well.
Onto some advice! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="366" title=" (Big Grin)"/> Your source of light allows you to really establish the centre of the painting and composition and it does work for a more one-sided color palette. I would have liked, however, to see some more colors in play. For example, her skin tones are predominantly cool with the exception of those bright yellowish highlights. I'd suggest adding a little bit of warmth to the rest of her skin, it will make it look mroe realistic and tangible. Her wings being white are likely to capture and reflect colors off her surroundings and while I agree that the surroundings are mostly dark and grey I think some dark blues in the shadows might enhance the realism. And finally - the rocks (don't know the specific english word) - at the moment they form an interesting frame and have some cool shapes but they lack color. Some greens and browns to suggest the presence of moss could add some pop to them, not to mention a nice contrast with the bright red feathers. I faved this awhile ago and never commented.. But I need to say now even though it's a little late ... This piece is my absolute favorite out of the paintings I've seen of yours so far. There's so much detail in the feathers and surroundings I just can't stop staring at it O_O

Which is why I like commenting in works. but I prefer to comment if I at least know the artist pays attention to the comments or even responds. If I see that they at least respond to a few I'll write a comment. If they don't then I don't write anything either unless I really have something to say about the picture.

2-3 years ago I was quite an unresponsive artist cuz my English is bad and sometimes don't know how to respond people's comment. I think some of the artists that didn't answer the comments may face this problem. lol (Most of my Thai friends do.)
