I needed to draw. A family very close to us was ripped apart when one of their children died in a car accident, and the other is in intensive care. I needed to get stuff out. Here it is.Related content

Such raw emotion is hard to come by. A wonderful work of art, indeed. The wings being torn from the body makes it very emotional, I think.

It's stunning and breath-taking. It hits me even harder since it is almost perfectly taken out a very dramatic scene in a story I have been writing. Only difference is that in my story, it was a demon named Dregon who was impaled upon those spikes. He died protecting his kin from renegade angels, a particularly cruel one named Anquis leading them, and his soul came to earth to wait for his beloved, an angel named Alexiel, to find him again.

Yes, by all means. As long as it really is just for personal use, though. I'm not even sure I'd want the recolored version to be posted on DA. Normally I allow more, but this image is too special to me to be redistributed in any way beyond that.

Wow...thanks. It was done over a couple hours with regular art pencils. It's going to stay sketchy, because I refuse to edit it beyond what I drew that day.
