Description Wooo more new artwork. Finally got time and more batteries in my camera this weekend-- I've been very busy still. I went to go see my daddy's side of the family for Christmas and got to hang out with my super cool grandparents, aunts, uncles, and daddy... though I didn't get to see my older brother Plus I've worked a couple of long days at my retail job.

So now I have pictures of the final I did for my Intermediate Painting course. I got an A.

I decided at the last second to call it Deuce. It sounds much better than what I had originally called them--- some very not... so... nice.. names... but thats okay. I love this painting and it is one of the favorites I have produced this semester.

Unfortunately since the painting is nearly 4 foot tall I had to photograph it with my little 5 mp camera-- and that's not anywhere good enough quality in color or size to produce prints. I will either have her professionally photographed or if I can bat my eyes at my very tall friend with the nice camera he will take pictures for me.

But anyhoo, here is a very low-res (and photo-shopped out camera glare) picture of 'Deuce'

Hopefully I will be able to offer prints soon. However since she will also be exhibited in a gallery early in the spring I will not be able to offer prints until mid-late spring.

You may also notice a small anatomical boo boo in this piece-- one of those things I rough painted and did not muster up the time to go back and fix because painting on this darn huge canvas nearly made me go X_X in the back and neck department... but now that I see it after critique I think I kind of like it and will keep it that way. I may change my mind later--- if I do I'll fix it before I make prints. Um... input on that is welcome

**edit-- oh it just occurred to me that I remember my professor telling me I needed to be more articulate in explaining my work. *sigh* Well, articulated in speech is one thing I sure as horsefeathers am not. (this fact was further re-enforced in my mind when trying to explain my precious little darling blade this past weekend to family and such) (hee hee.. I typed horsefeathers). Inspiration for this piece goes to those freaking huge creepy french hairstyles that were often worn in conjunction with those freaking huge french dresses with the massive farthingales. Creepy. >.< (no wonder I like them) I originally had a grand colour scheme to go along with this painting (cremes, light browns, luscious red lips and eyes and a cake icing pink gown..).... you can see how that went. (yuck! pink!) I repainted the dress 6 different shades of pink before deciding on red. I wanted to provoke a sense of awe and beauty and maybe a little excited fear in the viewer.. like... not like viewing a car accident (sickos) but rather watching a beautiful spider spinning her web but you don't wanna touch her cus she bites and the bites do really really really scary things to your flesh. Yeah. Something like that. Woo for attempted articulation.

....
<.<

The apples mean absolutely nothing in my mind... except.. they look yummy... but like in snow white (and if you are Dan) they are very bad for you. Besides-- wtf is symbolism for? everyone interprets it different. Do what you will.

The spider's name is Isabella. I said so.

yeah.
That's it. Have fun.

Shoo... go away...

now.

bye.
