The Savannah sun had begun to dip below the sky, and the crickets began to sing. Taka looked up at his father, his eyes half closed, the weight of tiredness making his head dip. "Father, we've been out here since noon. Can we please go home now?" he whined. Ahadi looked down on his youngest, still wide awake, the night wind playing with his dark red mane. "Now, Taka, we came out here to support your brother. We shall stay until he wants to quit, or until you hear his roar above the rim."
Taka sighed, placing his head in his paws. "He's never going to find it now. His voice is probably shot. Let's just go-" A sound interrupted Taka's doubt, and he jolted his head up, ears perking. Looking to his father, he saw a smile upon his face, proudness etched in his features. He stood, as the sound came again, looking down at his eldest, Mufasa. "Mufasa! You've done it! We both heard it!" he shouted. Mufasa looked towards the rim of the gorge, and burst into celebration. He ran and jumped and hollered, cheering loud enough for his father and brother to hear. "I did it! I did it!" he shouted. Ahadi laughed, turning to Taka. "Come, Taka, lets go get your brother. And when you're old enough, you will come here, just as he did to find your roar."

SLIGHT TLK 2019 SPOILERS AHEAD!

I saw the movie yesterday and I loved it!! I especially loved the new lore they included <3 One of my favorites was the gorge is used by lions to find their roar, Scar mentioned to Simba that Mufasa had gone there to find his, and I was like "holy fuck gotta draw that."

I tried to make it look like it was dusk, but that's kind of hard to portray in a gorge. I think I did okay tho! I hope you guys like it!
