THE SUSPENSE IS REAL!
I really have to commend you on Vegeta's facial expressions these past few pages. You've always had an amazing talent for that sort of thing, but now, during this roof scene, he just seems so real. I can clearly see sadness, frustration, maybe some confusion and hopelessness, but it's all so subtle and creates this perfect sort of emotional blend. I especially loved the look on his face when Bulma first came up to the roof and there was a shot of him just sitting and looking at the sky -- absolutely perfect.
You brought up an interesting point about the stars, too: how they'd all look the same for someone like Vegeta, and how he might be ashamed of that fact, especially having traveled among them personally. He's such a self-loathing person, which was touched on briefly in the anime but not explored to nearly the depth I would have preferred. (That's what your story is for now, hey?)
I also find it intriguing that he's been looking for Planet Vegeta even though he knows it's long-gone. I headcanon that Planet Vegeta was so far away from Earth that its light is still shining even twenty-five years after its destruction, the way that most if not all stars that are visible to us on this planet have actually already died and are only still visible because they were so many light years away.
(Hah, that's even sadder for Vegeta -- to be able to "see" his home planet which no longer exists. At least in you're version it's totally gone, less heartache for him, the poor guy
