I drew a tree outside of my school's library and when I was finished it reminded me of the giving tree, so I decided that I'd want a giving tree that gave me ideas.Related content

I had to google the story, but I do dimly remember having it read to me as a child. I can recall enough of it to realize how much I love your concept, though.

Somehow I haven't come across anyone who didn't like it, to be honest. Except one that thought it was too sad. But I think great works often end up being considered controversial, so I'm not surprised it affected people that way.

Yeah, I know someone who hated it and said the tree was a pushover. I like that you can see it in different ways, I think that makes for a good book.

I agree. I think it speaks differently during certain periods of your life too. I have a much different view of the book's message than I used to when I was younger. I used to think the tree was some sort of masochist or something! But now I know better.
