a.k.a. LOLatorobo: Elh the HunterThe cool, calm hunter, Elh Melizée, has been living a daring mercenary life in the Shepherd Republic, taking on quests across the skies.
However, Elh's hunter career takes a sharp twist when the felineko encounters Red Savarin, a mysterious loud-mouthed caninu boy during a mission gone wrong.
Along with a strange medallion of unknown power, the two must work together to stop a terrible threat from below the cloud sea.

Finished Solatorobo months ago, actually, but this game is too darn adorable and charming, I figured why not try fanart? :3
I loved all of the character designs: very good stuff, cute and balanced. Great interactions, lots of thought and love put into the world building.
The plot would be so screwy with these flopped characters, and yet...?

Honestly...this makes Red look a bit like a pirate and Elh a pilot. Very nice.
And while it might make things appear to conflict when it comes to the story (and a few things would) it definitely provide...intriguing...consequences.

When I first thought of this, I didn't consider it, but I think that the character back stories would likely be similar.
Without them, they'd potentially lose a lot of their identity, and a number of interactions wouldn't make sense.
...Although that in itself presents a number of interesting new things...

I just love how you revamped their clothes to be something of a hybrid of the two, still recognizable as themselves but also carrying traits of the other. Gotta love Red with an earring. XD I wonder what role Chocolat would play here...?

I ended up making his costume look a bit...off, since I tried to keep the color palette while making sure there's enough shiny magicky bits.
