This is the very defintion of a movie widens its scope the further it goes on. On the surface what they make appear to be a standard boyfriend ploy plot goes so much deeper than one would expect, courtesy of the beginning of the film introducing us to this worlds virtual reality network "OZ". They way this massive digital hub is designed gives it a ton of character and beauty that helps it really tie iinto the real world aspects of the film; this is especially poignant when a threat to this digital realm cause via a total accident begins to spread its influence towards the real world. Yeah, this is why you wouldn't wanna rely on one major network for everything, people scoff st the necessity of putting functions in the real world to digital code, but that practice can be both a blessing and a curse dependent on who holds the information!

To those without a keen eye you may have noticed the structure of this film is quit similar to the 1983 film War Games with a BIG DOLLOP of Digimon thrown in there for good measure! And that's definitely no surprise when you consder Mamoru Hodosa wrote and directed the Digimon Movie Our War Game!, which is almost exactly like this film; of course it's different enough to not be considered a ripoff and in many ways is better. Though, even as someone's who never watched or got into Digimon I respect it for being able to stay fresh and utilize its concept so well for over 20 years. Might I just say how STUNNING the Land of Oz looks in comparison to all,previous depictions of the digital realm in media!? Like, I could octure this being what the REAL INTERNET looks like! I'd kill to have it set up like this!

This, this is the perfect movie to watch to kill the stress and fear of the woes of the world. Seriously, this really helped me calm down in these troubling times. I'd say this should help put your mind at else if you're still scared of whatever might put you on edge. A malicious entity planning to use the internet against us and has a nuke button? Well if that ain’t topical! Am I the only one who thinks L.O.VE.M.A.C.H.I.N.E. is an amazing villain? He has the perfect justification for doing all of this for shits and giggles being a malicious program, lots of kids are making viruses and malware these days... any one of them could make a Love Machine... anyone...

But I think where the movie really gets its biggest strength is from the characters. I mean we can all see that Kenji Koiso is basically Dean Venture if he were Japanese, right? For god's sake they even got Deans voice for this kid! I wish I didn't payed better attention in maths... I bet I'd make state! But you probably guessed the Jinnouchi clan gives me the most to love! Being someone who comes from a decently sized family I can feel the love from each and every one of these characters; I'm impressed how they all have very distinct personalities for how little we see some of them as well. Being that they went back so many generations as a war family also helps give them a ton of charm too! But my favorite is Granny Sakae, the way she examines Kenji like a mob boss is just so cool, and how she rallies SO MANY PEOPLE TO THAT WONDEROUS TUNE! Just listen: youtu.be/vNRN894nD3E

That always makes me reignite the passion within my soul and allows me to strive to do my very best! When the old broad died... I felt that blow, but like the Jinoucchi clan I did NOT succumb and just give up! And Wabiske? Wabiske is like Spike Spiegel, a total badass and one of the best Black Sheeps I've even ever seen! Sure, he created this evil AI but he does atone successfully in his attempts to stop the thing. I just... this movie is so amazing! One of the best anime movies ever made! Just watch it! You won't regret it! Thanks to this movie my passion and cool has been restored overtime! No matter the future, no matter what comes our way, I believe we as a species can conquer ANYTHING that tries to take us down if we work together! But to do that, you ALL need to play video games! It WILL save your life someday!
