The groke, or Mårran (in Swedish). I was really scared of her when I was younger, but now I feel sorry for her. So cold so lonely.This is a present for my sister on her birthday, she loves Moomin.

Love how the mist shows her mythical body!
This reminds me of one episode where the girl Little My gets trapped in a forest fire after she made a snow-Groke. The Groke then saved Little My by putting out the fire and I couldn't stop smiling! Do you know the name of that episode?

Oh, yeah! I realized that this ep was called Sand Sculptures!
I really like this episode; it shows that the Groke isn't evil, but just lonely. This ep made me feel that she is like a guardian of the forest.

Hm. No I don't recognize that, but some episodes have been lost and are almost impossible to find today. There's one episode where My and Moomin are in a forest by a big bonfire and the groke shows up and puts the bonfire out. It's not that one?

At 23:22, in a forest, Little My makes a snow sculpture that is designed to look like the Groke. As she relaxes, lightening strikes and causes a forest fire. Little My accidentally collides into a tree and wishes for help. The snow sculpture then turns into the Groke (possibly indicating that the Groke is the spirit of snow) and puts out a fire by releasing wind from her 'feet'. The Groke then blew out a fire, touched some flaming trees in order to freeze them and walked through a wall of fire to extinguish it.
To be honest, I'm glad that my favourite character is a hero and not a villain.

Her appearance in that stop-motion cartoon of Moomins just went too far! I mean, she's scarred and brown, yellow eyes, slow slithering with looks like she warped two steps ahead and the breathing... oh, the breathing! I remember watching that episode where she first appeared with my older cousin and I clung onto her while she comforted me.

I agree, though, I used to be terrified of her when I was younger, too. But whenever I watch the moomins now, she just seems lonely and wants to be their friend. It's kinda sad, actually D:
