Your description fits my thoughts to this picture very well!
It is great to have the person walking into the light on the other side of the hill, with the shadow laying behind. In to a better future, I'd say.
The colors are great! I love this surreal bluish light.

I understand this, I often don't interpret my own pictures as well. I mean, I believe that I think something while making them [or at least create them out of an impulse] - but mostly I can not really put it into words *laughs*
I think everyone sees different things in pictures - therefore it is great to share them with other people!

How mysterious. The composition is great. The shadow really brings my eye back around to the left side of the photograph and the trees bring me back to the figure, very circular and great, clear movement.
The colors are great as well.
