p/s: the wide-eyed is actually an imperfection that i love so much! so beautiful that i don't think it's an imperfection, it's just a different features from the standard one. i know how some features really bug you, but this is just my opinion and i just love wide-eyed people! :,)D'awwww!! I'm so proud of myself!

This is an repainting of the old piece back in January. I love my OC so much that I just want to see how I originally wanted her to look like.
I'll upload the final version soon when I'm reaaalllyyy done with her. Peace!

Looks like I'm going to post little stuffs from now on... I have to sew a lot of costumes and hopefully after I'm done, I can get back to painting stuffs again! what tablet and program do you use? I love your work.. Can you share some tutorials that helped you?

I normally use Photoshop CS5 with Wacom CTE440, it's just a small tablet but I love it.
I like to learn by observing other people work here, so I'm afraid I don't have any specific tutorial for you on my learning process.

I was just starting semi-realism painting that time. And when I wanted to improve, I couldn't stop observing the smallest details in other amazing pictures!
I can't believe I have been ignoring those details for a long long time now! So it's greatly thanks to all the amazing artists and photographers here in dA!

wow, that's really amazing!
i love your new ways on shading and highlighting where it's needed. the only thing that i would change is the distance between the eyes. try moving them closer together. they should be centered more on each cheek. i don't mean to offend your drawing, but to help you improve, because you're really progressing and i feel you have the potential to become even greater ^^

This is a repainting over the old piece, so I think I completely forgot about distancing the eyes - probably because it looks okay the way it is. But you're right, and I'll keep that in mind.

What kind of resources and tutorials did you use to get better. Digital painting is like a foreign language to me... I have my wacom and stuff, but I guess Im just too impaitent... I guess I just need practice more.

Just like you, venturing into realism art is really foreign to me and I'm scared to try new stuffs on my each painting.
I try to make sure everything stays within what I knew, which was not really accurate in term of proportion. Well, mostly.
But there're amazing artworks all around dA and just looking at them, be amazed and motivated is really important in the learning process.
I have to admit I did not follow any specific tutorials here.
When starting on a new painting, I always try to visualize an inspiring painting from my favorite artist and start from there.
Then imagine myself that I have lots of crappy drawings inside me, and I have to draw them out to figuratively throw them out.
Lots of practice, and before you know it, your skill has definitely escalated.
